What's the AT&T Class Action Settlement About?
A $60 Million AT&T class action is open to claims until May 2023
.
This article is about a less recent, $14 Million open class action settlement against AT&T had been previously settled as a result of a class action lawsuit against AT&T for deceptive marketing and consumer practices. The lawsuit claimed that certain AT&T customers, specifically post-paid wireless customers were paying a monthly "admin" fee. The lawyers, or plaintiffs in the filed class action lawsuit alleged that this administrative fee is deceptive, and that customers were not informed of it properly.
AT&T has not admitted to any wrongdoing. However, they reached a settlement to avoid court proceedings, which could involve significant fees, costs, time, and a potential loss that results in a larger judgement.
How Do I Qualify?
You may be included in the ATT Class Action Settlement if you were a California post-paid AT&T wireless customer between June 20 2015 and June 16 2022. This means you will have to have had a post-paid account with AT&T Mobility LLC.
What Can I Get?
If the AT&T Class Action is approved, the settled fund will be distributed to all qualified class members that file a claim form (see below). The settlement fund will consist of $14,000,000 minus attorney fees, expenses, court costs, and administrative fees. The estimated payout is stated to be approximately $20.00, but may be higher or lower according to the class action administrators for this settlement.
